A logo redesign for
the Kentucky Academy of
Technology Education.
Client: Kentucky Academy of Technology Education (KATE)
This was a commission for the Kentucky Academy of Technology Education (KATE), in which they asked for a redesign of their logo for their annual conference “The Summit”. There were multiple iterations so that they could get a wide range of options. I went with imagery based on technology and graphs to reference their organization and I kept the designs mostly black and white until it was requested otherwise.
Final Versions
These were the final iterations of my designs that I presented to KATE. They had requested that I change the colors to match with the college that they were affiliated with, which I did, as well as change the color of the type on one of them to add more unity to the design.
First  Drafts
These were the initial designs that I presented to KATE. I had edited my sketches and chose three designs that I felt were the best and presented them to KATE.
Process
These were the first designs I created for this commission. I played around with a few different compositions and elements to see what worked and what didn’t. This was also where I tested out which imagery was the most successful in terms of both looking good and representing the work KATE did as an organization.
